8 RULES FOR EFFECTIVELY SETTING UP YOUR LIFE!

-Do your 10th boards well and your life will be set.
-Do your 12th boards well and your life will be set.
-Do your CET, AIEEE, BITSAT, JEE etc. well and your life will be set.
-Maintain a decent CGPA and your life will be set.
-Do your CAT, SATs, GMAT etc. well and your life will be set.
-Do well in your PG/MBA courses and your life will be set.
-Get a decent job and your life will be set.
-Marry a nice girl(boy) from a 'good'(READ:same religion, caste and stinking rich) family, settle down(READ: pay your bills, file your returns, have a 9 to 5 job) have kids(READ:Err...just do your best :P) and your life will be set.
But stray away from any of these 'goals', for whatever reason and by however small a margin and you won't stop hearing about your 'good friend' who did all the things you were 'supposed' to do and is now the poster child for every other person that has 'goals' and is 'career-oriented'.
Life is difficult guys! Don't let peer pressure get the best of you :)

IN FINALLY!....(contd)

Well as I said exams come and go by and are not really worth discussing here. The most important aspect of living a hostel life in these kind of institutes is that you get to interact with guys from all over the country. For eg: in my hostel(Godav) in our batch there are guys from almost all the capitals of the country! (to start of with 2 from Bengal, 2 from Jaipur, 1 from Gujarat, 1 from Chattisgarh, 1 from Jharkhand, a few from Maharashtra, 3 from Delhi, 2 from Punjab, 1 from Orissa, 1 from Patna, 1 from Lucknow, 2 from Bhopal, 2 from Bangalore, a few from Kerala and Chennai as well apart from the lot of A.P...forgive me guys if I missed out any other place!) Well that should make you do a 'Wow' what a rich mix of heritage!(Bharath mata ki jai ho!) lol....Just imagine life with this kind of habitat for the next few years. It is no doubt a gratifying experience which will be etched in our memories forever! Then coming back to the routine life goes along as usual. There are umpteen number of fests and carnivals round the academic clock adding oil to the fire of our bubbling environment. The largest(and definitely worth mentioning) of them are- 'SHAASTRA' (our tech fest which is among one of the largest and most popular ones in the country) and 'SAARANG' (the cultural fest which is considered to be the second largest in the country). These fests cannot be described simply by farting around here as there are only limited no: of expressions in our English literature.
Then not to forget the most important of all -the inter hostel events which pull large(in fact
lazy) crowds(from hostels of course!). Well once again the hustle cannot be described. The sports events are well attended to. Then in the later part of our even semester we have the most awaited event- the elections at both institute and hostel level. The institutes so called 'elite team' is decided by the outcome of these elections and there will of course be a lot of hullabaloo around as expected(campaigning and alike!).

Well why am I so excited about all this? Trying to tell the readers about this n that..blah blah..etc. I see a point in doing so! One of the reasons is to inspire the aspiring minds dreaming of coming here(if they get to read this by chance!) and other the author wants to show that he is proud to be here and also to show off to the readers that he could write decent English(well i don't mind what u'd like to comment on this! no objections!). The main reason is that I'm completely jobless right now as I mentioned earlier and would like to record these experiences so that I could relish them once I am not in a position to do any physical activity(or even mental apart from reading) in the far future.

One other thing that you cannot afford to forget mentioning about is the 'Local Area Network' facility of the campus!(This is common now as it is facilitated in many recognised institutes but it is to do with the server space and speed). Well this is believed to be the backbone in here. Only the inmates can imagine life without it! As once a professor was quoted saying "LAN is a beauty of the IIT system". Indeed it is and has its own pros and cons! It's not upto me to discuss about it, but to have a better picture about it you need to have a feel of it. Getting movies or games of your choice is hardly a matter of few minutes, music ranging from old classics to hard rock and the most amazing videos, be it sports or something else! You even get to read an e-book of your choice(and this is a matter of seconds! I believe) and what else? you have the world at your feet owing to the speed of net access in here!
Aaaah I feel sleepy now... sorry got to leave and I promise my readers that I'll keep you posted with this kind of crap and alike regularly!
